This study was commissioned by DG Enterprise and industry of the European Commission with an aim of assessing the current state of women entrepreneurs across and beyond Europe, coupled with the goal of developing a one-stop shop e-platform to further promote and facilitate entrepreneurship. Specifically, the main objectives of the study is:
- to collect, analyse, and present in a systematic way the most recent comparable statistical data on women entrepreneurs available from national and regional authorities in the 37 countries covered by this project(Work package 1);
- to gather information and consult stakeholders in all the above-mentioned countries, as well as European and International level associations / organisations, on the primary objective, functionality, necessary input, set-up, operation and desired impact of the creation of an internet-based e-platform for female entrepreneurs in Europe (Work package 2).
This study was carried out across a total of 37 countries: EU 28 countries Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, Israel, Turkey, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM).
The following services were provided: Statistical desk research, creating a database of international data on women entrepreneurs; Constructing reporting and data collection templates; Collecting information and data on women entrepreneurs in the various countries; Data analysis, statistics and Reporting.
