Kopint-Tárki Institute for Economic Research Ltd. was founded on March 1, 2007, by the research team of former Kopint (with a four-decade-long standing in economic research), the KOPINT Foundation for Economic Research, and the empirical social research centre TÁRKI Ltd. Kopint-Tárki is a member of Tárki group, which provides a wide range of economic and social researches.
The traditional profile of Kopint-Tárki has been macroeconomic research and economic policy analysis (tax policy, labor market policy, regional development projects). In recent years, it has been a member of international research consortia in several projects of the 7th Framework Programme of the European Union (SERVPPIN, INDICSER, SPINTAN, MOPACT, EURA-NET).
At the same time, Kopint-Tárki provides economic and business consultancy services, in domestic as well as in international projects. Besides of the Hungarian administrative bodies and the European Commission, the USAID, the World Bank, the EBRD, the UNCTAD and UNICEF have been among its clients.
The permanent staff of Kopint-Tárki consists of 12 researchers and research assistants. Furthermore, it has been regularly employing 10-12 experts, on project basis. Most of the researchers have a research experience of several decades but there are young colleagues, as well. Kopint-Tárki regularly hosts Hungarian and foreign students as interns.
