In celebration of Professor David Smallbone

With great sadness we announce the death of Professor David Smallbone of the Small Business Research Centre at Kingston University. Since the nineties David participated in many ENSR projects carried out for the European Commission such as the large studies on internationalisation of SMEs in and outside the European Union which are still the basis for policy making in this field. More recently, David and Iñigo Isusi led the project on Born Global enterprises and their value chains for the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions (Eurofound), in which a large number of ENSR members participated.

Many of you may also know David from his activities and contributions to the European Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (ECSB) and the International Council for Small Business (ICSB).

David was a well-known and well-respected professor on SMEs and entrepreneurship working all over the world. He was always a very reliable partner, providing excellent input to the studies and proposals. Above all he was a very pleasant colleague, well respected by many colleagues all over Europe and beyond.

On 21 April 12:00 PM in Eastern Time (US and Canada), the ICSB will organize a webinar to attribute David Smallbone. Please register here [click on this link for the zoom meeting].
